Getting Started:

Q: How do I get started?

A: The first step is registering your interest, when you’re ready to start we will email you the first assignment once it becomes available.

Q: Is there a joining/membership fee?

A: No, there is no fee for joining this program.

Q: Do you need my phone number to contact me?

A: No, it is not necessary to provide your mobile number however it is a great idea to connect on Skype. From time to time we like to schedule meetings with our writers to discuss particular campaigns.

Q: Is there any way to get in touch with you or anyone from Author Flair to discuss things further?

A: Yes, you can contact us via email here: contact@authorflair.com. You can also schedule a one on one conference call with a team leader via Skype, if necessary.

About the Program

Q: How long does it take to get published?

A: Getting published can be immediate or take up to 3 months. We follow up with the websites daily to ensure your content gets the greatest chance of being published.

Q: So just to be clear these are actual orders? Or, are you taking my work and posting for someone to come by and pay for it?

A: We only request Content to be written by our writers if a business has asked for that particular story. The business websites must show intention to publish the work before we request it from you.

Q: How does the process/platform work to take orders and payment?

A: Once we receive confirmation from a business requesting one of our pitched stories we select a writer for the job. We then send an email to the writer with details of the article brief, writing guideline, word count and the total amount paid to the writer upon publication. This writer will have an exclusive opportunity to claim this writing job.

To claim a writing job, the writer must respond via email stating they accept the job and will deliver the work by the due date. The writer will then submit their work and AuthorFlair will send a review and send the work to the website for publication.

Once the article is published AuthorFlair will alert the writer and request an invoice. The invoice will then be paid within 10 business days to the nominated PayPal or bank account.

Q: What happens if I don’t reply to a job offer?

A: Don’t worry, you will still be offered writing requests but if we don’t hear back from you on a continued basis, for example 2 months we are likely to no longer send you new opportunities. You can also put your account on hold for several months, simply email us to let us know.

Q: Is the work usually by-lined? Can I get links on my Published work? Will I be credited?

A: Most of our work is done under pen names and ghost authorship. From time to time we do give attribution to you as an author but we do not guarantee this.

Q: Are you able to provide me with an example of a brief you would be sending me?

A: The first brief you see will be a live request.

Q: Does the content vary depending on the client?

A: Yes, we write for a wide range of different businesses and industry topics, from Arts and Crafts, Travel, Finance and Everything in between.

Q: Is there an expected minimum number of pieces I need to write per week/month?

A: No, you can work as much or as little as you like, however once you accept a job we expect you to complete it within the agreed time.

Q: How long will I have to write each article?

A: More information will be provided in the writing brief. However most requests will not exceed 72 hours

About the Writing Work

Q: Are there any topics or trends in the writing that you are hoping for?

A: We will try to match you with your preferred topic but hope that you are willing to write to briefs outside your preferred topics.

Q: I would like to know, will there be information on what the company requires from the content? I would like to achieve a good result each time!

A: You will be given detailed instructions on each writing assignment. This includes writing guidelines, required links and a detailed article brief.

Q: I have a full time job, so I am hoping I can work these writing tasks around my other employment commitments if possible?

A: That’s great; we hope that your well rounded experience will add some unique insights into your writing. You will generally have up to 72 hours to complete each writing assignment.

Q: Can I write about anything?

A: No, you are required to write according to the assigned brief.

Q: How will I know when my work is published?

A: We will let know as soon as the site publishing the article alerts our team. We do actively check the websites and Google to see if the articles have been published. Some of our writers also actively check to see if their work has been published by searching Google. You can do this by adding a unique sentence within quote (“example unique text from your article, to search on google to see if it has been published”) to a Google search. This will return any results of your article.

Getting Paid

Q: Can you tell me the rate you offer per word? Or per article? In which case please also specify article length.

A: The rate will vary from a minimum of $0.05 AUD per word. The rate will be outlined in the job description, most blogs are 700 words but this can vary from 500 to over 1000.

Q: How does the Pay Per Publication work?

A: You will only be paid if your work is accepted by the Brand or Publisher that has requested your work. You will not be paid if your work is rejected. We also only get paid if your work is accepted, we are in this together.

Q: How do I know that no-one is stealing my work?

A: We encourage you to actively check  Google to see if your articles has been published. You can do this by adding a unique sentence within quote (“example unique text from your article, to search on google to see if it has been published”) to a Google search. This will return any results of your article.

Q: What do I do if I find that my work has been stolen/published without pay?

A: Please notify us if this has happened. We will chase this up for you and collect money from the website that has published your work if they were one of our clients. We can also initiate a google take down order and report the offending website under provisions in the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).

Q: How do I get paid?

A: We will request an invoice when you article is published. Then we can make payment via PayPal or Direct Debit if you have an Australian bank Account with a BSB and ACC no.

Q: When will I get paid?

A: You will be paid within 10 business days upon receiving your invoice.

Communication

Q: How often will I hear from AuthorFlair?

A: Generally we will only communicate when there is an active writing request or an outstanding invoice. We will not always notify you with day to day updates.
